The Chairman of Uyo Local Government Area, Dr Uwemedimo Udo, has extended warm greetings to children across the area as Nigeria marks Children’s Day.
In a statement issued today, Dr Udo congratulated children, describing them as the embodiment of “dreams, energy, and immense potential.” He emphasised the local government’s dedication to nurturing the younger generation.
The celebration, which aligns with the national theme, “Future Now: Promoting Inclusion for Every Nigerian Child,” reflects the council's commitment, under the leadership of Dr Uwemedimo Udo, to ensuring that every child, regardless of background, has access to quality education, healthcare, and opportunities to thrive.
“You are seen, valued, and deeply cherished. Your future matters, and the future starts now,” the Chairman said.
Children’s Day is annually observed in Nigeria on May 27 to honour children and highlight issues affecting their welfare and development.
