‎The Chairman of Uyo Local Government Area, Dr Uwemedimo Udo, recently led youth leaders from across the local government area to the Nigerian Army Recruitment Sensitisation Exercise held in Uyo.

‎The event, which brought together youth leaders and key stakeholders from across Akwa Ibom State, focused on creating awareness about the 91 Regular Recruit Intake of the Nigerian Army and encouraging greater participation of young people in national service.

‎Speaking during the sensitisation exercise, Dr Udo described the initiative as a timely and strategic intervention that aligns with the ARISE Agenda of the Akwa Ibom State Government, particularly in the areas of youth empowerment, job creation, and capacity building.

‎He encouraged the youths to embrace the opportunities provided by the Nigerian Army, noting that military service offers a pathway to personal development, discipline, leadership, and national service.

‎According to the Chairman, the Nigerian Army offers not just a career, but a path of honour, discipline, leadership, and service to the nation. He urged young people in Uyo to take the opportunity seriously and position themselves for a brighter future.

‎The sensitisation exercise was aimed at addressing the low turnout of Akwa Ibom youths in recent recruitment exercises while equipping prospective applicants with the necessary information to successfully participate in the enlistment process.

‎Dr Udo reaffirmed his administration's commitment to initiatives that empower young people and create avenues for them to contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of society
